Casting has begun on the sequel to 2016’s The Boy that starred Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead) as a nanny hired to care for a doll. Director William Brent Bell and writer Stacey Menear reunite for the sequel.
Late yesterday it was announced that Katie Holmes has joined the cast alongside Christopher Convery (Gotham, The Girl in the Spider’s Web). Holmes has been cast as Liza, a single mother. Convery will play her son Jude.
In the film, “Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into the estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.”
Holmes is equally known for her roles in series such as “Dawson’s Creek” and “Ray Donavan”, and films like Logan Lucky.
It will be a while before the first trailer for The Boy 2 will arrive. In the meantime, check out the first film’s trailer.
