The second trailer for Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch‘s new Pet Sematary adaptation is here. Not only does it reveal the history of the burial ground, but it reminds us that “sometimes dead is better.” The trailer also teases that this adaptation is very different from the original. Judging by the footage, this time it’s Louis’ daughter Ellie at the center of the story, not his young son Gage.

The film follows “Dr. Louis Creed, who after relocating with his family from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground deep in the woods behind the family’s home. When tragedy strike, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor Jud, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”

Twins Hugo and Lucas Lavoie star as Gage Creed in the new adaptation that also stars Jeté Laurence as young Ellie Creed. Jason Clarke (Winchester) and Amy Seimetz (Alien: Covenant) star as Louis and Rachel Creed, with John Lithgow as Jud Crandall and Obssa Ahmed playing the role of Victor Pascow.

On April 5, 2019 return to Pet Sematary.
