John Krasinki‘s 2018 horror film A Quiet Place was a hit with critics and audiences alike. We’ve already reported that Krasinski has been hard at work on a sequel. Today we can tell you that the sequel is well on its way. In fact, Production Weekly is reporting that A Quiet Place 2 is set to begin principal photography this summer in upstate New York.

In the first film which he co-wrote and directed, Krasinski played the role of Lee Abbott, a man whose family is forced to live in silence in a post-apocalyptic world, hiding from monsters who attack at the smallest sound.

Emily Blunt, Krasinski’s onscreen and real-life wife, starred as Evelyn a mother struggling to keep her family alive while preparing to give birth. Millicent Simmonds played the role of Evelyn and Lee’s daughter Regan and was the breakout star of the film.

If you haven’t seen A Quiet Place yet, stop what you are doing, turn off the lights, and go watch this dark, pulse-pounding movie now!

There is no word yet if Krasinski will return to direct the sequel, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed. It would be next to impossible to find another director who could properly capture the same feel and look as the original.
