Spielberg Making A Horror Series That Can Only Be Watched In The Dark

Film legend Steven Spielberg is gearing up for his next project, a horror series. But there’s a twist, it is meant to be watched on phones and you’ll only be able to watch it in the dark. The series which will play out over 10 to 12 episodes and will only be available on the upcoming streaming network Quibi. The network was created by ex-Disney executive Jeffrey Katzenberg and former HP CEO Meg Whitman, The Verge reports. Spielberg has already written “five or six” episodes Katzenberg announced at the Banff World Media Festival. Quibi‘s engineering team designed a new way to air the series using the internal clock of subscribers’ phones so that episodes can only be watched at night, in the dark. A clock will appear on screen with a countdown until sundown. There’s no way to cheat the clock, the series will disappear from the menu during the day. The series is part on a new lineup that

Movie Reviews: Dances with Films Festival premieres: Driven, Would You Like to Try Again? and Wowzers

In this creep column, I’m focusing my putrid peepers on three vastly different flicks that will be prancin’ across the sinful silver screen this month at the Dances with Films Festival! Playing Saturday, June 15th at 11:45 pm at TCL Chinese Theatre is: Driven (2019) Ride share fright flicks are en vogue these days; and as a relatively new phenomena they are ripe for exploration and fresh ideas, and Driven exemplifies this fully! Emerson (Casey Dillard who also wrote and co-produced the film) is havin’ the usual ass-pain of a night schlepping around various annoying fares, but things take a turn for the batshit when she picks up Roger (Richard Speight Jr.). You see Rog-baby is lookin’ to dump off a curse handed down through the generations, and now he and E-dawg are in for a night of supernatural shenanigans as they attempt to confront a preternatural evil. Recently I had the pleasure of surrounding myself with a musical miasma most dark and lascivious! I’m speaking of the sinister sounds of the new electronic outfit getting ready to rocket forth from the fog and rain choked graveyards of Seattle Washington…Audiorotic (comprised of members William Wilson and Michael Guillory)…and what a moonless midnight hued blackness that filled my soul as I listened to their demonic digital wizardry ! Want a taste my fiends, head here…I’ll wait for your return… I know you dug that the most…but if you need any further reason to follow these monstrous musicians, they have recorded their own version of David Bowie’s theme song to Paul Schrader’s 1982 remake of Cat People, and if that doesn’t sell ya on these dudes, nothin’ fucking will! Audience Flees ‘The Nightingale’ Screening Due To Extreme Violence

When you walk into a theater to see a horror film, there are certain things you expect, scares, gore, it’s all part of the package, but sometimes there are things that major audiences just can’t take. That seems to be the case in Australia when audiences went to the theater to see The Nightingale, a film is reportedly so brutal that many viewers fled the theater before it was half over. It’s being reported that the majority of fans visiting the Ritz in Randwick said that the film went too far. They could no longer watch the film and abandoned the theater after only 20 minutes. The film reportedly features multiple graphic rape scenes and scenes of extreme violence towards children. Set in the 18th century, this historical horror follows the story of 21-year-old Irish convict Clare (Aisling Franciosi) as she sets out to avenge her family.
