The Final Destination franchise has some of the most creative kills we’ve ever seen. Fans have been asking for another sequel for a long time and they are finally getting it, sort of. Final Destination 6 is on its way and we have learned more details about it.
Being described as part sequel, part reboot, the film was first announced back in January with Saw franchise writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan attached to pen the script. Recently, producer Craig Perry and creator Jeffrey Reddick have teased that the movie is both familiar and very different and that the movie will center on first responders.
We’re toying with having it take place in the world of first responders: EMTs, fireman, and police. These peopke deal with death on the front lines every dy, and make choices that can cause people to live or die…We rely on good judgement expertise and calm demeanor. So why not put those people in the nightmare situation where every choice can bring about life and death, but now for themselves? We’re thinking that world might be an enteresting way into a Final Destination movie, and one which can also generate unique set pieces in a very credible way.”
Reddick Says that reboot may not be the best word to describe it according to MovieWeb.
I’ve been talking to Craig and the concept behind it is unique. I think rebbot is too strong of a word, it makes it sound like they’re going to change everything, but it’s definitely a Final Destination movie.”
At the moment, they are still searching for a director. New Line is also yet to announce a production or release date. We’ll keep you posted.
