Following its international premiere at Sundance’s 2021 film festival, Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli’s chilling debut feature Violation is heading exclusively to Shudder, AMC Networks’ premiere streaming service for horror, thriller, and the supernatural. We’ve got the new trailer for the film that is as beautiful as it is brutal.

 
 

“With her marriage about to implode, Miriam returns to her hometown to seek solace in the comfort of her younger sister and brother-in-law. But one evening a tiny slip in judgment leads to a catastrophic betrayal, leaving Miriam shocked, reeling, and furious. Believing her only recourse is to exact revenge, Miriam takes extreme action, but the price of retribution is high, and she is not prepared for the toll it takes as she begins to emotionally and psychologically unravel.”
 
 
Written, produced, directed by, and starring Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty MancinelliViolation is a turbulent feminist revenge fable that explores the idea of trauma within families and untangles a  web of resentment. The film explores gender politics, selfishness, and the abuse of power.
 
 
Sims-Fewer also stars in the film alongside Anna Maguire, Jesse LaVercombe, Obi Albili, Jasmin Geljo, and Cynthia Ashperger. The deal was negotiated by XYZ Films on behalf of the filmmakers and Shudder’s Emily Gotto.
 
 
Violation premieres exclusively on Shudder on March 25, 2021.
