Tired of spending precious time trying to hunt down a movie both you and your significant other or friend will enjoy? It’s a pain in the butt, isn’t it? Worry no more, there’s now an app for that!
With just a few clicks and a few answers, Movie Matcher filters your best custom matches for something you will both enjoy. It’s just that easy!

You can play with a mate or with a famous movie character. Simply answer a few questions about your likes and dislikes and your requirements will be matched with those of your mate, giving you a few spot-on movie recommendations.
A recent YouGov survey* of 2,000 consumers for creative agency Ralph revealed that over the course of the lockdown, 1 in 3 British couples have been watching more movies together than before. And, with 1 in 10 couples spending more than 15 minutes endlessly scrolling through movie options before deciding what to watch, it’s not surprising that 30% have had arguments about finding a movie to watch. That’s where Movie Matcher comes in.
The algorithm, created by Ralph, cleverly uses IMDB data to surface more obscure films that perhaps you haven’t seen. It prioritizes subgenres and keywords over genres to make sure that the final results have a high rating – so you know it won’t throw up any duds.
Founded in 2005 with offices in London, NY, LA & Tokyo, Ralph is an EMMY and BAFTA-winning creative agency, who work with the world’s biggest brands to create experiences that audiences love and share. Their proudest achievements include managing social for some of Netflix’s biggest shows (Stranger Things, Black Mirror, Bridgerton) crafting brand campaigns and innovative experiences for Sony, hacking marketing with Mr. Robot, and making a cartoon called Tinkershrimp & Dutch with Nickelodeon. Grab a bag of popcorn, snuggle up and let Movie Matcher do the work for you!
