“Channel Zero” star Olivia Luccardi has boarded the cast of writer-director John Swab‘s upcoming horror Candy Land, which is no way connected to the board game.
Luccardi will star alongside Eden Brolin, Sam Quartin, Owen Campbell, Billy Baldwin, Guinevere Turner, Virginia Rand, and Brad Carter in the movie being described as a “gritty horror-thriller,” Variety reports.
“The film follows a young disciple of a religious cult, Remy (Luccardi), who stumbles upon a rag-tag group of truck stop sex workers known as “lot lizards” who take her under their wing. As Remy immerses herself in this new underground world, her true colors are revealed in a way that neither her former family nor new family could have ever imagined.”
Candy Land ratchets up our usual gritty fare and delves into the mysterious underworld of lot lizards – a ripe and unique setting for a visceral horror-thriller with a terrific ensemble cast, composed largely of friends and repeat collaborators,” producer Jeremy M. Rosen says.
Candy Land has already begun filming.
