Nicolas Cage is gearing up for an extraordinarily packed schedule that will showcase his legendary versatility across both film and television. The Oscar-winning actor recently announced he will star alongside Antonio Banderas in the highly anticipated fifth season of HBO’s “True Detective.” But fans of the iconic performer have something else to celebrate. His latest cinematic venture, Best Pancakes in the County, is preparing for an explosive debut.
A High-Stakes Standoff at a Small-Town Diner
Independent Film Company has officially set a November release date for Best Pancakes in the County. It unfolds as a tense, single-night action thriller for audiences nationwide. Written and directed by Ken Sanzel, the narrative transforms an unassuming roadside eatery into a bloody battleground. The film features a high-stakes standoff involving corrupt federal agents, a con artist, and a waitress with her own dangerous motives. As the night progresses, fleeting alliances disintegrate. Survival ultimately hinges on who can outmaneuver and outgun their enemies before dawn arrives.
Key Cast and Behind-the-Scenes Visionaries
The thrilling project reunites Sanzel and Cage. The two previously collaborated on the 2019 crime thriller Kill Chain. In this new outing, Cage takes center stage as “The S.O.B.” He’s a cunning, unpredictable criminal who becomes deeply entangled in a rapidly escalating conflict. The film also boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Justin Long and Shelley Hennig. The supporting roster expands even further with performances from Lauren German, Ravi Patel, Brandon Mychal Smith, Kelly Greyson, Jaylen Moore, and Michael Sirow.
Filming Locations and Production Partnerships
Filmed entirely on location in Arkansas, the production was brought to life through a collaborative effort involving dynamic industry producers. That includes Eduard Osipov, Raja Collins, Eric Brenner, Niko Fomenko, Gary Preisler, and R. Wesley Sierk III. The executive producing team also includes John D. Straley, Audra Gricius, Jina Panebianco, and Lance Kawas. Ahmed S. Boomrod, Eugene Pruss, and Nadine de Barros also join them. Beno Films produced the feature, with CaliWood Pictures backing it, while Fortitude International oversees international sales rights.
