Terror Films Releasing has officially partnered with writer and director Anthony Bushman for his latest project. The psychological horror thriller The Devil You Become is now heading to streaming services.
The compelling story stars Bushman, Ashton Solecki, Jessica Lynn Parsons, and co-writer Brian K. Millard. The film focuses on an isolated man surviving after a catastrophic super virus eradicates billions of people. As a result, he must confront his fractured psyche while navigating a terrifying new purpose.
A Vision Born from Sudden Real-World Isolation
Real-world events deeply influenced the production process for this indie feature. Bushman and Millard initially planned to shoot a different project in March 2020. However, production was delayed indefinitely just thirty-six hours before the cameras were set to roll. Because the close friends were also roommates during lockdown, they quickly pivoted to craft a brand-new narrative. Specifically, they designed a script that they could produce entirely on their own inside their isolation bubble. As a result, real-world themes of fear, isolation, and trust in science naturally shaped the dark storyline.
Operating under severe constraints, Bushman and Millard served as the complete on-set crew. They also cast themselves as leads while remotely filming supplementary performances with talented friends. Unfortunately, tragedy struck during the editorial phase when Millard suddenly passed away. Bushman stepped away for several months to grieve before ultimately returning to finish their shared vision. Completing post-production became an emotional tribute to his late creative partner and friend.
