Daniel XIII; the result of an arcane ritual involving a King Diamond album, a box of Count Chocula, and a copy of Swank magazine, is a screenwriter, director, producer, actor, artist, and reviewer of fright flicks…Who hates ya baby?

Every once in a while, yours cruelly squeezes in a request or two, and this revotin’ review stated out as just that as I was contacted by one of the producers of the new Tubi show, Twisted Fiction and asked to slap my eerie eyeballs on it for the sake of gettin’ my two cent take on things!
So what is Twisted Fiction? Well, think of it as a bit of E.C. comics by way of the grit and pulp sensibilities of a true crime rag, and if that doesn’t grab ya by the short n’ curlies I don’t know what will!
Over the course of the two available episodes, The Troll and Sole Motel by name, we are treated to murder, monsters, and more (it’s like Bed, Bath, and Beyond, just with 100% additional… well… death n’ stuff… ).
In The Troll, a true scumbag of a man (played to perfection by Gaetano Iacono) causes all manner of mayhem under the anonymity of the internet… but soon a more traditional “troll” is conjured forth to plague our putrid protagonist, while in Sole Motel, our heroine Carole (Nikki Silva, racking up another great performance from this production) gets her unintended murder on during some rough sex and finds herself at the mercy of the mysterious proprietor of the motel (Gaetano Iacono turning in another solid performance) in which she done did the dastardly deed!
I could go on and on on how these episodes look like a million bucks, and contain all manner of glorious practical creature and effects work… and believe you me, they well and truly do my cats n’ creeps… but he real lynchpin here is the quality of the writing and directing that manages to keep things pitch black, suspenseful, and totally filled to the brim with all manner of supernatural shenanigans and ghoulish goings-on!
Seriously boils n’ ghouls this is some well put-together horror biz through and through, and I strongly urge you wicked weirdos out there to explore this one post-fuckin’-haste… and you totally can, for free, right here!
