THQ Nordic yesterday released a large expansion to their RPG adventure Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. This DLC titled Fatesworn continues the story after the events of the game’s main story set years later with the god of chaos Telogrus awakening and wishing to bring chaos to the world of Amalur, not wanting to see your hard work of bringing peace back to the land, you again set out to put this god in his place!
There’s really not much I can say without spoiling the story, but when it comes to the game itself, you can refer to my previous review of the main game HERE as pretty much the game’s controls, graphics, and sound are no different now as they were previously BUT I will say the map has improved where the minimap is no longer locked in place (you can change that in the options if this option was always there I’ll admit I missed that!).
What I can say of what’s in store for you if you add this DLC to the game is a whole new experience in a new environment with new enemies, weapons, armor, the experience level cap is now moved up to level 50, chaos dungeons to explore, and new missions totaling around 6 hours of gameplay, and that’s on top of the main game that already has hours of gameplay content. It should be noted that you must complete the main story of the main game first in order for the DLC to work.
The Fatesworn DLC is worth its price, and the main game Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a great game on its own as well and I want to take this moment to change my original score from an 8/10 to a 9.5/10! The controls for the camera are still annoying at times and the lack of a targeting option during combat only affects the score but thanks to hours of gameplay, fantastic art, voice acting, and music, it scores high.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Fatesworn is out now on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
