“Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus is teaming up with the Jim Henson Co. for a new live-action fantasy series. Variety reports that the project is still in early development and is “creating an entirely new universe of characters by teaming up with Brian and Wendy Froud (“The Dark Crystal”) for a project in the works for Henson. The primetime adventure series, intended for a family audience, will feature an entirely new universe of creatures created by the Frouds.”
“Norman Reedus, the Frouds, and the Jim Henson Company coming together to create a show is the mashup of my dreams,” Halle Stanford, president of the TV at The Jim Henson Company said in a statement. “Norman is an artist, and when I suggested to him, what if we create a series with the Frounds together that explores his love of magical creatures, he was so excited.”
“They are masters in the fantasy world-building space. I mean, a show about goblins, trolls, and otherworldly creatures? There’s nobody in the universe better suited for that than the Henson Company.” Reedus says.
If you’re a fan of “The Walking Dead,” don’t worry, the project won’t affect the Daryl and Carol spin-off or his role on “The Walking Dead.” Also, Boondock Saints III is still in the works.
