After two successful installments, the first bringing in over $340.9 million at box offices alone, the Quiet Place franchise is back with a third film. The news was announced by filmmaker/actor John Krasinski during the Paramount investors day. The director or writer was not announced, but we all know that Krasinski would be the ideal candidate.
Krasinski co-wrote, directed, and appeared in the first film that premiered in 2018. He went on to write and direct A Quiet Place Part II, which was released in May of 2021, bringing in $297 million globally, even though theaters were still trying to bounce back from lockdown. Both films see monstrous aliens land on earth that are attracted by sound.
The newly announced sequel is not the only film the franchise has in the works, there’s also a spin-off on the way with Pig filmmaker Michael Sarnoski directing. While few details have been revealed about the film, it does have a premiere date, September 22, 2023. But that’s not all, a video game based on the franchise is also currently in development.
We’ll have to wait a while longer to see A Quiet Place III, it isn’t set to land in theatres until 2025. We’ll keep you posted.
