Out of all the upcoming series revivals/reboots, there’s one in particular that I’m most excited about, “Justified,” the series that sees Timothy Olyphant return as U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens. Today, some news has surfaced about the law enforcement/thriller series revival, titled “Justified: City Primeval.” Word is filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is in talks to direct some of the new episodes, according to Variety.

Justified” originally premiered back in 2015 and aired for six seasons. The action-packed series was based on the book series by Elmore Leonard, the same writer who penned the novel that Tarantino’s Jackie Brown was based on. It wouldn’t be the first time Olyphant and Tarantino worked together, Olyphant starred in Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which was released in 2019.

FX’s reboot series is specifically based on Leonard’s novel City Primeval: High Noon. The series picks up with Givens now living in Miami and trying to balance being a U.S. Marshal and being the part-time father of a 14-year-old.

Tarantino is known for his brilliant films such as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, From Dusk to Dawn, Django Unchained, and the Kill Bill franchise, but he’s not new to directing for the small screen, having directed episodes of “ER,” and “CSI.”
