Today, we know a little more about the upcoming mysterious J.J. Abrams HBO series “Demimonde,” first announced back in 2018.
Variety is reporting that the series, which stars Danielle Deadwyler (The Harder They Fall), “centers on Olive Reed (Deadwyler), a woman who is torn away from her husband and daughter in a brutal scientific accident. She is forced to unravel a conspiracy to reunite with her family, now lost to a dark, distant other world.”
Kira Snyder (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Rand Ravich, and Far Shariat (“Life”) will serve as co-showrunners as well as serve as executive producers for the horror series.
J.J. Abrams, known for films such as Star Wars VII and IX, Super 8, and the series “Lovecraft Country,” is writing and directing “Demimonde” for Bad Robot Productions which is producing in association with Warner Bros. Television and HBO.
