Casting news continues to roll in for Peacock’s upcoming live-action series adaptation of the “Twisted Metal” gaming franchise. Fans have been wondering who would play Sweet Tooth, the murder clown who drives the ice-cream truck. We can answer that. “Arrested Development” actor Will Arnett will be voicing the killer clown, AV Club reports.
Campbell joins Neve Campbell (Scream franchise), who will play Raven, Stephanie Beatriz (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), Thomas Haden Church (Sideways), and Anthony Mackie (Captain America franchise), who stars as John Doe, in the series about a “motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”
“Anthony Mackie stars as John Doe, a smart-ass milkman who talks as fast as he drives. With no memory of his past, John gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make his wish of finding community come true, but only if he can survive an onslaught of savage vehicular combat.”.
“Twisted Metal is based on a story by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick about a motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”
Michael Jonathan Smith (“Cobra Kai”) will both write and show-run the “Twisted Metal” series from Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions.
