Tim Burton brings The Addams Family to Netflix with “Wednesday.” A new video has arrived teasing Nevermore Academy, the school in the series which Netflix has launched an official website for. Once you answer a few questions the site asks for some contact information so they can let you know if you’ve been accepted.
The video explains that the school is the alma mater of Morticia and Gomez and is the home outcasts and oddballs, including Edgar Allen Poe.
Jenna Ortega stars as the infamous Wednesday Addams with Luis Guzman playing Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia.
“Game of Thrones” actress Gwendoline Christie will play the role of “Larissa Weems,” the principal of Nevermore Academy. The cast also includes Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J. Ogawa, Percy Hynes White, Jamie McShane, Thora Birch, and Riki Lindhome. The series also sees the return of “Addams Family” star Christina Ricci as a yet-to-be-named character.
“Wednesday” is described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”
Directed by legendary filmmaker Tim Burton, the series is written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) who also serve as showrunners.
