Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the writers that brought you A Quiet Place, 65, and The Boogeyman, have made quite the name for themselves in the genre. They are now reuniting for the A24 horror Heretic, Deadline is reporting. The duo will also be directing.
Two-time Emmy nominee Hugh Grant (D&D: Honor Among Thieves, Glass Onion) and Chloe East (The Fabelmans) are in talks to star.
Plot details are still being kept under wraps but the rumor is that the film will center on two young women who are lured into a cat-and-mouse game in the home of an eccentric man.
Webster’s defines “Heretic” as “a person believing in or practicing religious heresy, a belief or opinion contrary to orthodox religious (especially Christian) doctrine” So, it is likely that the film will feature heavy religious topics.
We’ll keep you posted.
