Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator prequel Prey debuted on Hulu in 2022, receiving praise from both critics and viewers alike. Now, the fantastic film is finally getting a physical release.
The film, set 300 years in the past, centers on Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior who has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters to ever roam the Great Plains. When a new danger threatens her tribe, she sets out to protect her people, stalking and ultimately fighting what turns out to be an alien predator.
The mostly Native American cast (actually played by Native Americans) includes Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road, “Roswell, New Mexico”), Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Julian Black Antelope (Tribal), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), and Dakota Beavers.

Prey, which we called “the best film of the Predator film of the past decade” in our review, is coming to 4K Ultra, Blu-ray, and is getting a Best Buy exclusive SteelBook release on October 3, 2023.
