From Buffalo 8 comes the twisted thriller Screwdriver, the feature film debut of writer-director Cairo Smith.

“Blindsided by divorce, thirty-three-year-old Emily leaves her adopted Nebraska behind, returning to California with nothing but a suitcase in hand. She seeks refuge in the home of an old high school friend and his pharmacologist wife. The childless couple welcomes Emily into their lives, but their hospitality soon gives way to a surreal plot of cult-like manipulation and betrayal. As days bleed together, Emily falls into a delirious tailspin, forcing her to question her faith, sanity, and her generous hosts’ intentions.”

AnnaClaire Hicks headlines the eerie, slow-burn film as Emily, a trusting woman who ends up in the potentially nefarious clutches of an old friend (Charlie Farrell) and his gracious and accommodating wife (Milly Sanders).

Screwdriver, produced by Askari Productions and No Sudden Movies, made its world premiere on the festival circuit at Dances with Films in Los Angeles and went on to screen around the world at festivals, including the SOHO International Film Festival and NYC Independent Film Festival.

This twisted tale, Screwdriver, arrives on Cable and Digital VOD on November 10th, including Prime Video, Vudu, Vubiquity, Cox, and Comcast.
