The twisted minds behind Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey are gearing up to ruin your childhood once again with their new horror take on the Disney classic Bambi, with Bambi: The Reckoning.
Set to begin filming in January of 2024, the movie stars Roxanne McKee (Wrong Turn 5) as Xana, a woman hunted down by a vicious killer deer named Bambi. Tom Mulheron and Samira Mighty also star in the film that turns the adorable deer into a killer human-animal hybrid.
The movie’s director, Dan Allen, promises that Bambi: The Reckoning will be “terrifying.” According to Bloody-Disgusting.
Bambi: The Reckoning is part of a larger horror fairytale universe being created by the film’s team. Other movies in this universe include Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, about Tinkerbell injecting pixie dust like heroin. There’s also a sequel to Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey in the works.
Wondering how classics like these can be turned into horror films? The Reckoning is based on Felix Salten’s original novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods, which is now in the public domain, meaning anyone can make a movie or book based on the source material.
You can now watch Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey streaming on services like Peacock. I do feel the need to remind you that this movie is in no way suitable for children to watch unless you want to scar them for life.
