As the second half of season three of “Chucky” is gearing up to kick off, the franchise’s creator, Don Mancini, suggests that a new Chucky movie is on the horizon.

Speaking on the Scream Dreams podcast with Barbara Crampton, Mancini stated he’s in ”the early stages of working on a new Chucky movie.” He also mentioned to DJ Suss One that it would work in tandem with the television show. They also discuss Chucky’s unique charm. Let’s be honest: you can’t help but love Chucky.

A Killer Legacy

The first Chucky movie, Child’s Play, was released in 1988. It gave birth to our favorite possessed doll and spawned multiple sequels and the series. It’s been five years since we got a Mancini Chucky movie; the last film in 2019 didn’t go over well. Now, with the TV series doing so well, it’s a perfect time to continue the not-so-good Good Guy Doll’s rampage.

The Series

The second half of season three of “Chucky” will premiere on April 10 on Syfy and USA. This season, while battling a supernatural force and a murderous doll, the teenage protagonists—Jake, Devon, and Lexy—must navigate the complexities of growing up and the turbulent waters of young love. Can they balance these personal challenges with the responsibility of stopping Chucky’s reign of terror?

Meanwhile, Chucky’s partner, Tiffany, faces her own set of problems. Law enforcement closes in on her, determined to hold her accountable for the murderous rampage she committed while disguised as actress Jennifer Tilly. Can Tiffany escape capture and reunite with her pint-sized partner in crime?

A New Installment

There is no word yet about the upcoming movie’s plot or cast, except that Brad Dourif, the long-time voice of Chucky, will return. Don’t worry; we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, you can watch the interview with Mancini below. Don’t forget to tune in on April 10th for the rest of season three of “Chucky.”
