Months ago, we reported that a new Jurassic World sequel was in the works. Now, the first casting news has hatched. According to THR, Avengers actress Scarlett Johansson will lead the upcoming movie, from director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) and original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.
A New Chapter
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s storyline in the Jurassic World trilogy may have gone extinct with Dominion, but there’s still plenty of the new world to explore. In Jurassic World 4, you will be thrown into a world where dinosaurs and humans coexist. That leaves the story open for dangerous encounters. So far, fans have been told to be ready for a whole new story that departs from the storyline of the first three films of the trilogy.
The question remains if we will see the return of original stars like Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and the ever-charming Jeff Goldblum. Either way, fans will get more of what’s at the franchise’s heart: dinosaurs, action, and a gripping story.
An Action Star
Johansson is no stranger to action. She joined the Avengers for multiple movies before her character, Black Widow, got her spin-off movie in 2021. Johansson first appeared in the Avengers Universe in 2010 in Iron Man 2. So far, she has appeared in nine Avengers movies.
Roaring into Theaters Next Year
We’ll keep you posted as details evolve as Jurassic World 4 approaches its July 2, 2025, theatrical release. In the meantime, Jurassic World: Dominion is now streaming on Peacock.
