Earlier this week, the first installment of Lionsgate’s new reboot of The Strangers trilogy, The Strangers: Chapter One, debuted on digital. Now, the first image from its sequel has just surfaced.
The first image released from Chapter Two teases a continued fight for the franchise’s new final girl, Maya, played by Madelaine Petsch. It looks like she’s in serious trouble and covered in dirt and blood.
In case you need a reminder, The Strangers: Chapter One centers on Maya and Ryan (Froy Gutierrez), a young couple celebrating their anniversary. When their car breaks down in a desolate town, they must seek refuge in a trendy Airbnb. However, their romantic getaway takes a horrifying turn when three masked strangers target them.
While the exact premiere date for The Strangers: Chapter Two hasn’t been announced, Lionsgate has stated that it will arrive later this year. Chapter Two and Chapter Three were filmed back to back, with Renny Harlin returning to the director’s chair. This means it is likely there won’t be a long wait between chapters.
Horror fans will recognize Harlin’s name. He was behind films such as A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Mindhunters, Die Hard 2, and Deep Blue Sea.
