Oddity, a chilling new horror film from writer-director Damian McCarthy delves into the depths of grief, revenge, and the occult. The film follows a twisted path of retribution fueled by the loss of a loved one and the power of ancient, cursed objects.

The story begins with a tragic event. Suspicion falls on a patient from the nearby mental health facility where Ted works as a doctor. One year later, Dani’s twin sister, Darcy, enters the scene. Blind but brimming with a self-proclaimed psychic connection to the unseen, Darcy is also a collector of cursed artifacts. Her arrival at Ted’s doorstep, accompanied by his new girlfriend, Yana, is far from coincidental. Darcy is convinced there’s more to her sister’s demise than meets the eye.

Oddity promises a suspenseful exploration of grief and the desperate lengths people might go to in the name of vengeance. The film’s unique blend of psychological horror and the occult adds another layer of intrigue, raising questions about the power of these cursed objects and the potential consequences of wielding them.

The film features a cast led by Gwilym Lee (“The Tourist”) and Carolyn Bracken (The Fall). Writer-director Damian McCarthy, known for his previous horror film Caveat, brings his chilling vision to life. IFC Films and Shudder produce.

Oddity will hit theaters on July 19, 2024, from IFC and Shudder. Prepare to be surprised, terrified, and perhaps a little unsettled by the depths of human vengeance and the power of the unknown.
