Jeff Daniel Phillips is known for his roles in Rob Zombie’s 3 from Hell, The Lords of Salem, and Halloween II. However, the talented actor’s most recent role is in Cursed in Baja, which he wrote and directed. Variety reports that Anchor Bay has acquired the film ahead of its FrightFest premiere on August 23.
In Cursed in Baja, an ex-lawman travels to Mexico to search for the heir to a Los Angeles fortune. But what he finds in Baja challenges him to the core.
Phillips is joined by cast members Barbara Crampton (Suitable Flesh), Jose Conejo Martin (The Tax Collector), Michael Shamus Wiles (“Sons of Anarchy”), and Constance Forslund (Village of the Damned). Genre icon Douglas Tait (Halloween Kills, Annabell Comes Home, Freddy vs Jason) rounds out the cast.
Cursed in Baja is produced by Kent Isaacs and Phillips. Brian Katz and Anchor Bay’s Thomas Zambeck executive produce.
“We’re thrilled to bring Jeff and his vision into the Anchor Bay family,” Anchor Bay’s Thomas Zambeck states. “’Cursed in Baja’ is an intense journey into madness, destined to take its place among the genre-bending classics that have come to define indie film.”
