If you’ve been eagerly waiting for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to hit a streaming service, we’ve got good news: the wait is over. The latest entry to the Ghostbusters franchise is coming to Netflix!
Prepare for an epic intergenerational clash! The Spanglers join forces with the original Ghostbusters, who have been busy in their lab in their iconic NYC Firehouse. The Ghostbusters will face a chilling threat unlike anything they have seen before. An ancient artifact unleashes an icy evil entity. Our heroes have a bone-chilling mission: save their home and prevent a second Ice Age that could wipe out humanity. And they’re going to need all the help they can get!
Frozen Empire reunites director Gil Kenan with co-writer Jason Reitman, continuing the legacy of the Ghostbusters franchise. The film boasts the return of our new favorite proton pack-wielding crew, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, and Mckenna Grace. They return, reprising their roles alongside the iconic original Ghostbusters cast members Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Ernie Hudson, William Atherton, and Annie Potts.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is the fifth film to grace the big screen. It follows the original 1984 classic, its 1989 sequel, and the critically acclaimed 2021 entry, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, bypassing the 2016 female-driven flop as if it didn’t exist. The franchise also saw a new game released in 2022, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.
So, dust off your proton packs, pop some popcorn, get comfy, and prepare for some serious chills and plenty of thrills guaranteed to entertain! Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire lands on Netflix on Monday, July 22.
