VMI Releasing will unleash Ganymede, a Southern Gothic LBGTQ+ horror thriller from the filmmaking team and life partners Colby Holt and Sam Probst, this August.

Ganymede follows a small-town wrestling star (Jordan Doww) as he navigates a burgeoning crush on an openly gay classmate and prejudice from his own family as he tries to discover his identity. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he is also haunted by a grotesque creature in this emotional and fright-filled film.

The film boasts a star-studded cast featuring Doww, Pablo Castelblanco, Robyn Lively, Joe Chrest, and Marissa Reyes. Anchorman and “The Goldbergs” actor David Koechner stars in a dark role far different from his usual comedic characters.

Directed by Holt and Probst from Holt’s script, Ganymede is a thrilling exploration of family, sexuality, identity, and the supernatural. The film promises to captivate audiences with its unique blend of horror, drama, prejudice, and Southern charm.

The film has already garnered critical acclaim, winning the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Reeling International Film Festival and the Pride Award at the Chattanooga Film Festival.

Ganymede will be available on August 6, 2024, on platforms including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and Prime Video.
