Magnolia Pictures’ genre label, Magnet Releasing, has secured the North American rights to Michael Felker’s feature directorial debut, Things Will Be Different. This chilling, mind-bending sci-fi thriller has generated significant buzz from critics following its world premiere at SXSW.
Produced by Shane Spiegel, Jacob Rosenthal, and Felker, the film centers on two estranged siblings who, after a botched robbery, seek refuge in a seemingly abandoned farmhouse. However, their escape turns sinister when they discover the farmhouse is a portal to another time and that they’re not alone.
With executive producers Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead, and David Lawson of Rustic Films (known for their work on The Endless and Spring), the film boasts a high-caliber creative team behind and in front of the camera. The film stars Riley Dandy, Adam David Thompson, Chloe Skoczen, Justin Benson, Jori Lynn Felker, and Sarah Bolger.
“We’re thrilled to bring this unique and thought-provoking film to audiences,” said Magnolia Pictures co-CEOs Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley. “Michael Felker has crafted a truly original and captivating story.”
Things Will Be Different promises to be a thrilling ride filled with suspense, mystery, and unexpected twists. It will land in theaters and on-demand platforms from Magnet Releasing on October 4, 2024, just in time for Halloween.
