A Quiet Place: Day One, the highly anticipated and well-received prequel of the popular movie franchise, now featuring three films, explores the events leading up to the day the world fell silent when aliens who hunt by sound arrived on Earth. Directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig), the film stars Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. Following a successful theatrical release in late June, the movie grossed over $261 million worldwide at the box office.
The film follows Samira (Nyong’o) returning home to New York City. Her seemingly ordinary trip takes a terrifying turn when mysterious creatures that hunt by sound attack the city. Accompanied by her cat, Frodo, and an unexpected ally, Eric (Quinn), Samira must navigate the now-silent city to survive.
In addition to Nyong’o and Quinn, the film also stars Djimon Hounsou and Alex Wolff. A Quiet Place: Day One is a Platinum Dunes/Sunday Night Production with a screenplay by Sarnoski and franchise architect John Krasinski.
Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Krasinski produced the film, with Allyson Seeger and Vicki Dee Rock serving as executive producers.
