William Fichtner has been cast as a series regular for AMC’s upcoming series “The Talamasca,” based on Anne Rice‘s works. Fichtner will portray Jasper, a mysterious American who has assumed control of the Talamasca’s London Motherhouse.
The series, part of AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe, will focus on the men and women responsible for tracking and containing supernatural creatures like witches and vampires. The series follows the success of the adaptations of Rice’s “Interview with the Vampire” and “Mayfair Witches.”
“The Talamasca” represents a story the network has envisioned from the outset of the franchise. “We’ve been eager to explore this captivating secret society,” shared Dan McDermott, president of entertainment for AMC. “The caliber of talent is truly exciting,” he continued, referencing Hancock and Lafferty’s involvement alongside established producer Mark Johnson.
Fichtner is known for his roles in films like Armageddon, Crash, Drive Angry, and The Dark Knight. His character, Jasper, is described as charming, righteous but also dangerous, and manipulative. He will star alongside Nicholas Denton in the lead role.
The series is slated for a 2025 premiere on AMC, adding another chapter to the interconnected world of Anne Rice’s beloved novels. John Lee Hancock (director of “The Blind Side”) and Mark Lafferty (“Halt and Catch Fire”) will serve as showrunners and executive producers, with Hancock also directing. We’ll keep you posted.
