From filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, the brilliant mind behind films like Erin Brockovich and Contagion, comes the new chilling horror thriller Presence.

The first teaser trailer for this mysterious film was released in August. It gave us a brief glimpse inside a home filled with shadows. Today, the first teaser trailer for Presence has been unveiled. It opens with the line, “In this house she will be loved.” We see a bedroom lit with a string of lights hanging over a bed where a girl sleeps. Next is the line, “In this house she will feel loss.” and finally,  “In this house she will fear.” This gives off a seriously ominous and disturbing tone.

Written and executive produced by David Koepp, who brought you Jurassic Park, the film follows a family who move into a new, beautiful suburban home and are soon convinced they are not alone as a mysterious entity stalks them.

The cast of Presence is filled with talent. It includes Lucy Liu, Julia Fox, Chris Sullivan, Callina Liang, and Lucus Papaelias.

The film Presence has already garnered critical acclaim, earning a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes. Some viewers at film festivals could not handle the stress and had to leave, calling it intense and terrifying.

Prepare for a haunting experience. Presence premieres in theaters on January 17th from Neon.
