The upcoming indie horror film Night Patrol, directed by Ryan Prows (V/H/S/94), has gathered a stellar cast. It stars Justin Long (Barbarian, Drag Me to Hell), Jermaine Fowler (The Blackening), RJ Cyler (Scream the Series), and WWE superstar turned actor CM Punk (Girl on the Third Floor).
Freddie Gibbs, YG, Flying Lotus ( Ash), and Jon Oswald and Nicki Micheaux of Lowlife round out the cast.
In Night Patrol, an LAPD officer (Fowler) must put aside his differences with the area’s street gangs after he discovers the police force is harboring a horrific secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects he grew up in.
Long stars as the officer’s partner, recruited as a legacy into the night patrol. Cyler plays the officer’s brother, who sees what he isn’t supposed to see. Mulroney plays Long’s character’s grandfather, a sergeant with many secrets. Punk rounds out the cast as the sergeant’s chief right-hand man.
David S. Goyer and Keith Levine produce alongside Josh Goldbloom, James Harris, and Mark Lane of Tea Shop Films (47 Meters Down). XYZ Films is executive producing.
Prows, who co-wrote the script with Shaye Ogbonna (Fight Night), Tim Cairo (Off Ramp), and Jake Gibson (He Bled Neon), had this to say about his film that wrapped production in Los Angeles this week.
“Audiences are not ready for how hard this movie goes. To shoot this script, with this cast, on location in Los Angeles, after such a long path to get here is nothing short of a dream,”
