This December, RLJE Films and Shudder are unleashing a one-of-a-kind horror comedy with heart: Bloody Axe Wound. And the chilling film is slashing its way into theaters.
In Bloody Axe Wound, Abbie Bladecut, a young teenager, finds herself caught between the macabre traditions of her family’s grisly trade and the budding emotions of her first love.
In the quaint town of Clover Falls, Abbie’s father, Roger Bladecut, has cultivated a notorious reputation by capturing real-life murders on film and selling them to a disturbingly eager audience. As Abbie delves deeper into the family business, she questions the morality of their actions and contemplates if it’s time to take the family tradition in a new direction.
Written and directed by Matthew John Lawrence, the film stars Sari Arambulo, Molly Brown, Eddie Leavy, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Billy Burke.
Meg Mortimer serves as executive producer. It was produced by Hilarie Burton Morgan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Cassandra Del Viscio, Mary Stuart Masterson, and others.
Bloody Axe Wound opens in select theaters on December 27, 2024. Check out the new trailer below.
