Robert Eggers is giving the world a killer Christmas gift: the highly anticipated film Nosferatu, opening in theaters nationwide on Christmas day.

In the film, Lily-Rose Depp’s Ellen wrestles with anguish as Count Orlok’s (Bill Skarsgård) spell pulls her in. She seeks answers from Willem Dafoe’s Professor Von Franz, but is it too late? Meanwhile, bloodcurdling imagery and a city gripped by fear paint a vivid picture of the horror to come.

Nicholas Hoult stars as Ellen’s betrothed, Thomas, destined to be the first to encounter the ominous figure. Ralph InesonAaron Taylor-Johnson, and Emma Corrin round out the impressive cast.

In a recent interview, Director Eggers expressed concern that Bill Skarsgård’s profound transformation might overshadow his acting brilliance. Eggers envisions a portrayal that pays homage to the legendary performances of Max Schreck and Klaus Kinski while carving its unique path in cinema history.

Nosferatu marks the continuation of the successful partnership between Focus Features and Eggers. This duo previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed film The Northman (2022), starring Bill Skarsgård’s older brother Alexander. The project reunites Eggers with celebrated producer Chris Columbus.

Prepare for a chillingly gothic holiday season as Nosferatu descends upon theaters on December 25, 2024. Get your tickets now.
