The trailer for Sinners, the highly anticipated new horror movie from writer-director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan, who plays duel roles, has already been revealed. It gives us a glimpse into its dark and dangerous world and a badass, blood-drenched Jordan. Unfortunately, the news came today that the film has been delayed. Initially set to open in theaters on March 7, it now won’t premiere until April 18.
Set in the Jim Crow era film, Sinners follows Jordan’s character as he returns to his hometown to leave his troubled life behind, get a fresh start, and reunite with his twin brother. Unfortunately, a sinister evil has taken over the town. Soon, he finds himself locked in a fight for survival and to protect those he loves.
Ryan Coogler, who previously directed Jordan in Creed, Fruitvale Station, and Black Panther, produces the film under his Proximity Media banner.
Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Jack O’Connell, and Delroy Lindo are among the cast of what promises to be a movie filled with chills, thrills, action, and more.
Sinners is just one of the films whose schedules have been shaken up over the past week. Vicious has also announced its delay. Luckily, The Running Man is getting an early release. Between its director and talented cast, odds are Sinners will be well worth the wait.
Watch the trailer below and head to theaters this April to witness the horrors of Sinners.
