Get ready for a Super Bowl Sunday unlike any other! While football fans are glued to the gridiron, horror enthusiasts will have their halftime spectacle. Osgood Perkins, the writer and director of NEON’s highly anticipated horror film The Monkey, and star Elijah Wood will join Dead Meat hosts James A. Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca for the first-ever Superbowl “Horror Halftime Show.

The “Horror Halftime Show” promises to be the ultimate twisted event for horror aficionados. Perkins, Wood, Janisse, and Rebecca will analyze the past year’s best horror films, showcasing top kills, scares, and memorable moments. Complete with slow-motion replays and commentary, the show will be a bloody good time.

Adding to the excitement, the “Horror Halftime Show” coincides with the upcoming theatrical release of The Monkey. Based on the chilling Stephen King story and produced by James Wan (The Conjuring), The Monkey is a new offering from Longlegs writer/director Osgood Perkins. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, Sarah Levy, and Elijah Wood.

The Monkey tells the terrifying tale of twin brothers who discover a mysterious wind-up monkey, triggering a series of gruesome deaths that tear their family apart. Twenty-five years later, the cursed toy resurfaces, unleashing a new killing spree. The brothers are then forced to confront the evil they thought they had escaped.

The anticipation for The Monkey is palpable. NEON recently released the film’s official trailer, which shattered records as the most-viewed independent horror trailer of all time. Within 24 hours of its online release, the trailer amassed over 43 million views globally. By 72 hours, it surpassed 100 million views. So far, the trailer has garnered over 109 million global views across all platforms.
