The trend of twisting classic children’s tales into horror nightmares continues! Following in the footsteps of Winnie the Pooh, Pinocchio, and Bambi, another iconic character is getting a dark reimagining: Popeye. Alpake Entertainment has dropped the Red Band trailer for Shiver Me Timbers, a horror comedy that turns the sailor man into a terrifying killer.
Inspired by the classic Popeye animated series, Shiver Me Timbers sets sail into slasher territory. Written and directed by Paul Mann, the film follows a group of friends on a camping trip to witness the Halley’s Comet meteor shower. However, their getaway takes a horrifying turn when a meteor hits and transforms a loveable Popeye into a monstrous killer driven by an insatiable thirst for destruction.
Tony Greer stars as this new, monstrous Popeye. The cast includes Paul Dewdney, Stephen Corrall, Amy Mackie, Paul Stephen Mann, David Hallows, and Murdo Adams.
