The twisted minds behind Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 are gearing up to ruin your childhood once again. This time with their new horror take on the Disney classic Bambi: The Reckoning.
Directed by Dan Allen, the film stars Roxanne McKee and Tom Mulheron as Xana and Benji, a mother and son who find themselves in a terrifying situation after a car accident. Their fight for survival intensifies when they become the targets of a vicious predator – Bambi.
This isn’t the sweet little fawn we all know and love. This Bambi is bloodthirsty and brutal AF. The first teaser for Bambi: The Reckoning shows hunters talking and Bambi attacking a car.
The movie comes hot off the heels of the premiere of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, which opened in theaters in March. Both films are part of a larger Poohniverse, a series of indie horror films that turn iconic Disney characters into killers, which was announced during our interview with directors Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers.
There is no word yet when Bambi: The Reckoning will premiere, but it’s not the movie coming out from the “Twisted Childhood Universe,” a horror film based on Peter Pan, which is headed your way later this year.
