Following in the chilling footsteps of acclaimed South Korean horror films like Exhuma, The Wailing, The Closet, and Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman, the new exorcism thriller Devil’s Stay will unleash its horrors on home video this March.
Written and directed by Hyun Moon-seop (Nightmare Teacher), Devil’s Stay features a compelling cast, including Park Shin-yang (The Big Swindle, Man on the Edge), Lee Min-ki (Crash, Monster), and Lee Re (It’s Okay!, Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula).
Devil’s Stay plunges into the heart of parental grief and the terrifying unknown. The film’s synopsis sets the stage for a chilling exploration of faith, doubt, and ancient evil:
After the sudden and tragic death of his daughter following a harrowing exorcism, a renowned heart surgeon finds himself in a state of denial. Despite pronouncements from medical examiners and even the very priest who performed the exorcism, he refuses to accept the reality of his child’s passing. As the funeral rites commence, the mourners begin to witness unsettling and inexplicable changes to the girl’s body. These disturbing occurrences leave the priest to question whether something far more sinister—an ancient evil predating even Catholicism—has returned to haunt them all.
The film’s premise suggests a descent into terrifying uncertainty, where the boundaries between the natural and supernatural become frighteningly blurred.
