Get ready for a hilariously terrifying blend of family dynamics and supernatural mayhem! The Max Original movie The Parenting will soon premiere, and we had the pleasure of interviewing the director, writer, and cast, who shared their inspirations, favorite scenes, and much more.
The film follows a couple, Rohan (Nik Dodani) and Josh (Brandon Flynn), as they plan a seemingly idyllic weekend getaway. Their goal? To introduce their respective parents. However, the clash between Sharon (Edie Falco) and Frank (Brian Cox) and the laid-back Liddy (Lisa Kudrow) and Cliff (Dean Norris) quickly ignites. The gathering soon turns into a pressure cooker of familial tension. It’s up to Rohan, Josh, and their best friend Sara (Vivian Bang) to unite the families.
As if the interpersonal drama weren’t enough, the families soon discover their rental property—managed by the eccentric local (Parker Posey)—is home to evil. Chaos and hilarity ensue.
The Parenting boasts a star-studded cast, including Nik Dodani, Brandon Flynn, Brian Cox, Edie Falco, Lisa Kudrow, Dean Norris, Parker Posey, and Vivian Bang.
Craig Johnson, known for “School Spirits,” “Minx,” and “Gossip Girl,” directs from the script penned by “Saturday Night Live’s” Kent Sublette. Chris Bender and Jake Weiner produce. Richard Brener, Chris Pan, David Neustadter, and Jared Ian Goldman are executive producers.
