Get ready for a suspense-filled ride! RLJE Films has just snagged the rights to Neighborhood Watch (formerly Nowhere Men), and it’s packing some serious star power. We’re talking Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jack Quaid, and Malin Akerman, all under the direction of Duncan Skiles, the mind behind The Clovehitch Killer.
Neighborhood Watch dives into the complex world of Simon, played by Jack Quaid (“The Boys”). Simon is a young man battling mental illness who becomes convinced he’s witnessed an abduction. When the cops brush him off, he turns to his neighbor, Ed, played by “Walking Dead” star Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Ed is a jaded, retired security guard with his own dark past. Together, they embark on a dangerous quest for the truth.
This isn’t just your run-of-the-mill mystery, though. As Simon and Ed dig deeper, they’re forced to confront the sinister secrets surrounding the disappearance. This story explores the complexities of mental health, the burden of traumas, and the bond that forms between two very different individuals.
Director Duncan Skiles is passionate about this project. “I fell in love with ‘Neighborhood Watch’ because of Ed and Simon’s unique relationship, which Jeff and Jack brought to life with care and commitment,” he says. “By the end of production, our entire crew had joined me in their love for this unlikely duo, creating a special energy that touched every scene. We are excited to bring this film to theaters and hope audiences connect with these characters as deeply as we have.”
Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer of RLJE Films, is equally enthusiastic. “‘Neighborhood Watch’ sees Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Jack Quaid build on each other’s talents to unravel a suspenseful and surprising mystery, and Duncan Skiles has crafted a smart character-driven thriller that keeps you guessing. We can’t wait for viewers to unravel this unpredictable journey.”
Sean Farley wrote the film, which was produced by Luke Daniels, Greg Lauritano, Vince Jolivette, Chris Bellant, Kurt Fethke, and Jake Robinson. Mark Ward and Brandon Harmer of RLJE Films negotiated the deal with the filmmakers.
Prepare for a suspenseful, character-driven mystery that will keep you guessing until the end. Mark your calendars for April 25th, 2025, because that’s when this thriller hits theaters and lands on demand.
