Make a chilling descent into psychological horror with Killgrin, a new film from writer-director Joanna Tsanis. Set to haunt select theaters and digital platforms this April, Dark Sky Films brings this unsettling tale to audiences, promising a unique blend of personal tragedy and supernatural terror.

Killgrin centers on Miranda, a woman grappling with the aftermath of a devastating personal loss. Seeking solace and a way to cope, she explores unconventional self-help methods, venturing into the realm of spiritual healing. However, her search for inner peace takes a terrifying turn when she learns that she is afflicted with a “Killgrin.”

Initially dismissive of this supernatural diagnosis, Miranda attempts to find more conventional support through group therapy. But as she delves deeper into her grief and seeks connection with others, a horrifying truth begins to emerge. Those close to her start to suffer gruesome fates, forcing Miranda to confront the terrifying reality of the “Killgrin’s” influence.

Joanna Tsanis, known for her work on Bloody Bites, which recently arrived on Shudder, brings her unique vision to the film, crafting a narrative that blends psychological torment with supernatural dread. Ali Mashayekhi and Zeus Kontoyannis produced the film.

The film is led by Konstantina Mantelos, who starred in Anything for Jackson and Who Killed Our Father? Cristo Fernández, best known for his roles in “Ted Lasso” and Spider-Man: No Way Home, also stars. The cast also includes Adam Tsekhman, Ramona Milano, and Peter MacNeill. Gillian Fortin, Matt Murray, and Lynne Griffin round out the cast.

Killgrin delves into the themes of grief, vulnerability, and the terrifying potential for darkness to manifest both within and around us. The film’s 83-minute runtime promises a tightly wound narrative that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Dark Sky Films‘ release of Killgrin promises a chilling cinematic experience that explores the intersection of personal tragedy and supernatural horror. The film will be available on April 25th in select theaters and on VOD/digital platforms.
