Scooby-Doo has remained a cultural icon for over half a century, captivating audiences with its blend of mystery, humor, and lovable characters. From classic animated series to blockbuster films, Sooby and his gang have cemented their place in pop culture. Now, Netflix has announced a fresh take on the beloved franchise. It will delve into the origins of Mystery Inc. with a live-action series that promises to be both nostalgic and something new.
Showrunners Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg will helm this new series. It will explore the early years of Scooby-Doo and his companions. However, it will offer a modern reimagining, venturing into the chilling case that brought them all together.
The story unfolds during the gang’s final days at camp. Shaggy and Daphne meet a lost Great Dane puppy who may hold the key to a supernatural murder. The intelligent Velma and the enigmatic new kid, Freddy, join them. Together, they embark on a mission to solve a case that plunges them into a terrifying nightmare.
Rosenberg and Appelbaum, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman (Berlanti Productions), and André Nemec executive produce with Jeff Pinkner (Midnight Radio).
