Brace Yourself! Midsummer Scream, the world’s largest Halloween and horror convention, is gearing up for its spine-tingling return to the Long Beach Convention Center from August 15th to 17th, 2025, and this year’s theme is all about the gloriously gruesome world of “Horror Comic Books.” The award-winning publisher Storm King Comics will take center stage as the convention’s headliner to celebrate this terrifyingly terrific theme.
An Icon Will Appear
Adding a massive dose of star power is legendary director, composer, and Storm King collaborator John Carpenter. Carpenter, the mastermind behind Halloween, The Thing, and more, will appear at the event. Carpenter is scheduled to attend on Saturday, August 16th only. He will be signing autographs for his legions of devoted fans. As an extra treat, each autograph fee will include a copy of John Carpenter Presents George A. Romero’s THE AMUSEMENT PARK, an all-new graphic novel based on the unique and thought-provoking film, brought to you by Storm King Comics in collaboration with the George A. Romero Foundation.
Joining John Carpenter will be the driving force behind Storm King Comics, the founder and editor, Sandy King. King, a renowned film producer with an impressive list of credits including In the Mouth of Madness, Village of the Damned, They Live, and the series “Suburban Screams,” heads the company.
David Markland, co-founder and executive director of Midsummer Scream, expressed his excitement about this dream pairing. A Weekend Filled with Comics and More
But the Storm King Comics celebration doesn’t end there. All weekend, they will bring talented artists and creators to their booth, where Sandy King will be available.
Adding to the comic book extravaganza, local favorite shop “Revenge Of” will host signings with various horror comic creators. On the show floor, pinball machines will be available for attendees to enjoy.
Midsummer Scream is a massive gathering for horror enthusiasts. Annually, it welcomes over 50,000 fans and features an impressive array of 300+ exhibitors. The show will also include the immersive “Hall of Shadows” haunt zone, live entertainment acts, and panels.
