Get ready to dive into a seriously claustrophobic and toothy nightmare! Deadline just dropped the news that Kathryn Newton (Abigail) and Lana Condor (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”) are teaming up to star in a new survival thriller called Devil’s Mouth.

What’s it About?

The premise? Pure, unadulterated “oh hell no.” The movie follows a group of college friends on what should be a fun trip to Thailand. But things take a terrifying turn. They find themselves trapped in an underwater cave system… with a deadly bull shark. It’s about deep, dark, confined spaces and a predator, basically a swimming tank of teeth.

Adding to the tension, as these friends fight for their lives in the watery depths, old tensions and power struggles simmering beneath the surface bubble up. So, not only are they battling a deadly creature, but they’re also dealing with their internal drama. Sounds like a recipe for some serious edge-of-your-seat action.

Behind the Camera

Jeff Wadlow, who’s no stranger to terror, having directed movies like Truth or Dare, is steering this watery terror. He’s also producing alongside Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road Films, behind the John Wick franchise. So, you know the action, effects, and suspense will likely be top-notch.

A Ton of Talent

The script for this underwater nightmare comes from Aja Gabel (Sunny) and Myung Joh Wesner (“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”), with Wadlow also contributing. Devil’s Mouth is a co-production between Amazon, MGM Studios, and Lionsgate, which means it has some serious backing.

For Kathryn Newton fans, they won’t have to wait too long to see her on screen again. She’s also set to star alongside Samara Weaving in Radio Silence’s upcoming Ready or Not: Here I Come.
