Big news, Nevermore Academy fans! Ahead of its highly anticipated second season premiere, “Wednesday” — the most popular Netflix series of all time — is getting a third season!
Wednesday’s Back, and So Is the Trouble!
The series, created by showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (based on characters by Charles Addams), stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams. After being expelled from her previous school for dumping piranhas into the pool, Wednesday was transferred to Nevermore, a private academy for outcasts.
In Season 2, Wednesday Addams returns to Nevermore, but it’s not going to be a quiet term. She’ll have to face off against a new tormentor to prevent her werewolf roommate, Enid, from meeting a gruesome end!
The new trailer for the season features a chilling moment: Wednesday’s face is streaked with black tears. Her mother, Morticia (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones), asks, “I know what those tears mean. What did you see?” Wednesday’s quiet reply sends shivers down the spine: “Enid dies and it’s all my fault.”
The scene then cuts to Wednesday’s horrifying vision: she’s standing in a graveyard next to a headstone that reads “In memory of Enid Sinclair.” To make matters worse, a ghostly Enid appears, wrapping her hands around Wednesday’s throat and shouting, “I died because of you!” In a voiceover that continues the trailer’s ominous tone, Wednesday states, “Secrets are the bedrock of the Addams family. The sooner I get answers, the sooner I can save Enid — or die trying.”
A Star-Studded Cast Returns (and Some New Faces!)
The incredible cast is back for Season 2, including Emma Myers as the bubbly Enid and Riki Lindhome as Wednesday’s school therapist.
New characters include Principal Dort, played by Steve Buscemi. The ensemble cast includes Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, and Naomi J. Ogawa. Moosa Mostafa, Christina Ricci, Victor Dorobantu, Luis Guzmán, and Catherine Zeta-Jones round out the cast.
“Wednesday” became an awards magnet after its first season exploded on Netflix in 2022, even snagging four Emmy awards!
“Wednesday” Season 2 will debut in two parts!
