After what feels like a lifetime (18 years to be exact!), the OG horror parody team is reuniting. That includes Anna Faris and Regina Hall, who are officially returning as everyone’s favorite perpetually terrified duo, Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, for the brand-new installment of the Scary Movie franchise!

Back in 2024, Marlon Wayans teased the epic reunion with a throwback photo of the two stars, sending fans into a nostalgic frenzy. Now, it has officially been confirmed, according to Variety.

Anna Faris and Regina Hall recently said in a statement, “We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn, and Marlon—three men we’d die for (in Brenda’s case, again).” We’re laughing already!

Back in Business

For the first time since the first two films, the Wayans brothers—Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory—are all getting back together to write and produce the next installment, a reboot. This is a big deal, considering they’re the brains behind the madness that made the original films a cultural phenomenon.

Variety reports that last year, Jonathan Glickman took over as head of Miramax and wanted to make another installment. This time, the right way, and that’s with the Wayans brothers back in the picture.

Get Ready for Spooky, Silly Fun!

Scary Movie was a massive hit, becoming one of the highest-grossing R-rated horror movies ever. After all, it provided a parody of numerous scenes and quotes from the best horror movies of the past. That includes hits like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. It’s safe to say expectations are high for the sixth film in the franchise. And while we aren’t sure just which horror movies it will poke fun at, we’re just glad it’s back.

Scary Movie will unleash a mix of horror and humor in theaters on June 12, 2026. Get your popcorn ready!
