We’ve got some great news for fans of Idris Elba! The actor is fresh from the Venice Film Festival, where he presented Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite. He is set to both star in and direct a new film. He’ll be adapting Neil LaBute’s play, This is How it Goes, for Apple TV+.
The film is a psychological thriller. It follows a couple who reconnect with an old school friend. They end up offering him a place to stay. And things don’t go as planned.
Elba actually starred in the 2005 West End production of the play. However, this time he’ll be taking on a different (and currently unnamed) role in this movie adaptation. Variety reports.
The screenplay for the Apple Original Film is being written by Nathaniel Price, known for his work on “Mr. Loverman” and “The Outlaws.”
Idris Elba has a long history of fantastic roles. He starred in films like Beasts of No Nation and Heads of State. And He fought Lions in Beast. He’s also appeared in the series “Luther” as well as the two movies it spawned.
